SOG Advises Tesla on Launching Their First Fast-Charging Station in Serbia

March 18, 2020

U.S. automotive and energy company Tesla, Inc. installed their first fast-charging station in Serbia. The station is located in Belgrade, on IKEA’s store parking lot, and it’s comprised of 4 Tesla’s superchargers. These chargers are the highest-power chargers available in the market, capable of power output of up to 150 kW, and they allow drivers to fast-charge their vehicles in 20 minutes for the additional 250 miles of travel.

According to company plans, Serbia should get a total of 3 fast-charging stations. Besides the IKEA location, Tesla is currently developing another charging station along the Corridor X highway, near Aleksinac, and a third station is planned near Požega.

Our partner Radovan Grbović and senior associate Milan Novakov were in charge of providing all legal services in relation to this project, including a comprehensive legal analysis of building and operating electric vehicle charging stations in Serbia, real estate matters, various regulatory issues and compliance of Tesla’s general policies with local regulatory framework.

Tesla, Inc. is one of the worlds largest companies engaged in production of electric vehicles, with revenue over USD 24 billion and 48,000 employees globally.
